Lights from ... Strasbourg Observatory (France)
Doing astrophotography with a digital camera is one thing, but doing imagery with a monochrome CCD camera is another!
Here is my first image taken with such a configuration, from the educational platform 2T36 of the astronomical observatory of Strasbourg, with Patrick G. , astronomer
The night was quite foggy, and of course, the light pollution very present. That said, we still had a total of 47 minutes of exposure.
The only problem is a bad focus with the OIII filter ...
Technical Details....
C14 Edge-HD Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope + QSI 632 CCD Camera
47 minutes of exposure:
- 3 x 300 seconds in blue layer
- 3 x 180 seconds in layer OIII
- 3 x 470 seconds in H-alpha layer
Calibration files: 20 Dark + 50 Offset + 25 Flat
